For now at least, The Human Page is written by me, Chris Worthy, with some much needed tech support and general encouragement from the brains behind Gilder Creek Studio.

After a few years of practicing law, I figured out that my favorite parts of the job were the parts I’ve done for more than 20 years now as a writer. I get to tell stories, gather and share information, and – hopefully – put some good in the world. I’ve had thousands of bylines, won a few awards along the way, and I’m always on the lookout for the next adventure. There are plenty of stories to share.

 

When I'm not at the computer, you will find me spending time with my husband watching good sci-fi or walking along a trail somewhere and enjoying the company of my family.

I get paid to write words, but here's the professional way to say that...

My extensive writing and editing experience spans a wide variety of topics, including parenting, health, science, travel, education, global nonprofit projects, and behind-the-scenes writing across industries. I shepherd freelance writers, create story budgets for online and print products, adhere to deadlines, ensure workflow for project management, conduct interviews, identify and interview compelling sources and subject matter experts, optimize content, and edit to AP Style and brand style, as applicable. A sizable portion of my work involves taking complex information and putting it in context for readers, treating both the subject and its consumer with integrity and care. Prior to pivoting to a career in writing and editing, I practiced law, and I remain an inactive member of the South Carolina Bar.
